We got you this play yard thing – it’s several plastic fence pieces that fit together. Allows you a little more room to play in, without worrying about you getting into things that might hurt you. For the strawberries, mommy put some big store-bought berries into this mesh bag thing that you could mush up with your gums and suck on.

You first tooth started poking through this month, and you were drooling like crazy all the while! Here’s a few pics – one of you sitting for one of the first times, and also of you “reading”. You seem to really enjoy books, which makes me very happy!
Your first Christmas went well. You didn’t quite know what to do with the presents – you didn’t want to rip the paper! Here are several shots from home and at Grandma’s and Popaw’s on Christmas eve.
Mommy took you to your first play group today. You seemed to enjoy it, and the pics certainly make you look happy.
Today mommy took you up to the Yacht Haven marina to visit GiGi and swim in the pool there. She had a little float thing for you to sit in. I had to work, but she says you enjoyed it. Since this time, your enjoyment of the water has only increased. Here are a few pictures from today. The one of you sleeping is after swimming. You’ve had this tendency to keep your arms and hands raised up near your head while sleeping, and sometimes while awake. This will continue for a few years.
You finally started sleeping through the night (instead of 3 hours at a time)! This was a major relief for mommy and helped to ease a lot of the stress on her (and our marriage in general). You started sleeping anywhere from 6-9 hours at a time at night.
Nana and Grandpa Herb kept you for the first time tonight. They drove you home in the gray mustang, and Herb sat in the back with you. Unfortunately, traffic going back to Virginia Beach was terrible. They got stuck on the interstate for a few hours, and you were screaming your poor head off. This was their first time alone with you, and I think they handled it quite well, considering. Grandpa Herb always had little patience, and even though he is my step-father, you might swear somehow I got this trait from him. But with you, he was as patient as he ever could be, I think Nana was the one who had the least patience this day. They finally got you home, and I think Herb struggled getting the pack-n-play setup. Mommy and Daddy got some much needed rest! Mommy had just had surgery a few days prior to “get fixed” so she couldn’t get pregnant again, so a night of not having to get up and down was very beneficial for her.
